CFD Analysis of Underbody Wall Shear Stress on the Corvette Aerodynamic Package
The wall shear stress distribution on the vehicle’s underside provides insight into boundary layer behavior and flow attachment. Regions of elevated wall shear indicate strong momentum exchange near the surface, corresponding to attached flow with effective energy recovery and pressure control.
Conversely, areas exhibiting low wall shear denote local flow separation or recirculation zones, where boundary layer detachment reduces surface loading efficiency.
