Introduction
Carbon fiber aero components are engineered for strength and style, but their finish needs care to maintain clarity, gloss, and UV protection. Proper maintenance preserves both performance and appearance.
1. Understanding the Surface
Revozport parts are finished with a certified UV-resistant automotive clear coat. This coating protects the weave but can dull if neglected. Matte or raw finishes require gentler cleaning to prevent haze or scratches.
2. Washing
- Hand-wash only with a pH-neutral shampoo and microfiber mitt.
- Rinse with clean water and dry with a blower and/or soft automotive drying towels.
- Avoid harsh degreasers or brush-type car washes that can mar the surface.
3. Decontamination
- Use mild iron removers or bug/tar cleaners for road film.
- Decontaminate occasionally with a clay bar, applying light pressure only.
- Always rinse thoroughly to avoid chemical staining.
4. Protecting the Finish
Paint Protection Film (PPF): Ideal for high-impact areas such as lips, skirts, and diffusers. Self-healing films preserve clarity and resist stone chips.
Ceramic Coating: Adds hydrophobic protection and depth. Use coatings formulated for carbon or clear coat finishes.
Wax or Sealant: A non-abrasive synthetic wax or sealant provides short-term gloss and UV defense.
5. Interior Carbon
- Dust with a soft microfiber towel.
- Remove fingerprints using mild interior cleaner or diluted alcohol.
- Avoid silicone-based sprays that attract dust or leave residue.
6. Long-Term Care
- Store vehicles out of direct sunlight when possible.
- Inspect leading edges for chips or wear periodically.
- Reapply coating or wax as needed to maintain UV protection.
